If you’ve followed this blog for a while, you know that we’re big fans of the vintage brand, Enicar. Although something of a “lost brand” these days, Enicar was one of the top brands of the 20th century and their fantastic, forward-looking designs have attracted a devoted following to this day. You can see why with a glance at some of their classic watches, including the Enicar Sherpa Super-Divette in my personal collection.
Martijn van der Ven (“Vandervenus” on social media) is one of these modern Enicar fans, and he’s taking it to an entirely new level. He recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to support his forthcoming book, “Time For a Change: Discovering Vintage Enicar.” This amazing book is a must-have for any Enicar enthusiast, covering the history, mechanics, design, and advertising of the classic brand. In fact, any vintage watch fan will find a lot to like here, even if they’re not into Enicar specifically!
Watching the progress of this book has been a lot of fun, with photo shoots and new rewards added continually. The latest is a “lottery” of a vintage Enicar ladies watch. And Vandervenus is also selling a trio of awesome vintage Enicar watches on eBay to finance the book.
If you’re into classic Enicar watches, you need to get in on this Kickstarter. A pledge of just €65 gets you a copy. And given his efforts, €4 more to get it signed and numbered is well worth it! And with delivery scheduled by December, it would make a great holiday gift too!

Hello.
After extensive searching day I have come across your details. I am very interested in the early life of ENICAR and the history in campaign watches for Woodrow Wilson. I also found out that they emblazoned on the lower part of these watches a range of faces for export to certain parties. I know very little so far and I was wondering if there is a reasonable history written in your books. If so could you direct me to that particular one please or indeed communicate with me directly where I would have several question’s for you. Thank you for your time and hope you can respond very soon.
kind regard’s

I’m afraid that I did not write the book, and neither do I know much of anything about campaign watches. However perhaps Martijn van der Ven knows more – check out his website (linked above) and contact him?
